Yes, another intake/carb thread....

Sorry! I've read close to a million (lol) threads about Edelbrock carbs/intakes today and I'm still not totally convinced. I would like to order an intake/carb for my 86' 350 (x2). I can't exactly get to the boat without breaking the shrink wrap, so I can't verify every detail, but I'm sure with the experience on this forum, I should be ok.

I'm looking at buying this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CMB-03-0108/?rtype=10
It's an Edelbrock 2104.

I'm also looking at the Edelbrock 1409.

So my question(s) is, do I have the right intake? I'm pretty sure the carb is the correct choice, and won't require the spread bore adapter when combined with that intake.
Fuel line?
Throttle bracket?

Thanks for all your help!

Ayuh,... The Manifold ya linked to is for '87, to '95....

If yer motor is an '86, it won't bolt on...

For the fuel line, either build yer own, or use Merc's...
Ditto the throttle bracket...

Chiz,

Like Bondo said, this manifold may not fit your engines if they are a genuine '86 vintage. If there is any reason to suspect that the engines/heads have been replaced, you may want to take a look at what you have to determine which manifold you need.

The easiest way to tell what kind of heads are on your engine is to look at the valve covers. If your valve covers are attached to the head with 4 bolts at the perimeters of the valve covers (two at the top, two at the bottom edges), then you have the older style heads that this intake will not fit. If your valve covers are held on by 4 bolts in the center of the valve covers (all in line), then you have the newer style head, and this intake would work.

Got it.

Thanks for the quick replies, I'm fairly certain that I have the older style heads, but I'll double check to be sure. Time to break up the shrink wrap!

That Weiand intake is NOT for a spread bore carb.

Doesn't need to be;

Edelbrock 1409 - Edelbrock Marine Carburetors
Carburetor, Performer, Marine, 600 cfm, 4-Barrel, Square Bore, Elec. Choke, Single Inlet, Gold Iridited

OK, Was thinking the 1409 was a spread bore.
