Yes water in my oil!

93 merc. 3.0 done a head job, new valves,gasket, put it in the water ran fine next day had a little water on #4 cyl., enough to have a bad idle,and to start making my oil milky on top end.my question is the water coming from the riser did not replace that or manifold, how can i check them for leaks, i will do the block pressure test any suggestion on how to do are welcome, i did read Don S. water in oil (thanks Don for your great help to all). just wanted to get more details on how to. I don't winterize the boat,(california) but it is in saltwater most of the time. 99%
I done the head job beacause it had injested water!
also changed water pump and thermostat and housing.

When you had the water problem before did you figure out how it got in then, or did you just to a valve job on a possibly cracked head?

Do you have any signs of leakage at the rise/manifold connection like rust stains? If so take it apart and look for thinned out water passages where the gasket sets.Alocal machine shop does our pressure/vacuum testing on the manifolds.Idon't know of a 100% test for the riser

since it was missing the water shutter at the exhaust, I went that route. I will take the riser off today to see any sings of water thru there. If I find any sings of water should i just replace the gasket or take the manifold out and have it checked?
