Saw a program last saturday of a guy catching rogue crocks up in the Northern Territories (top-end) at night, and he had a similar experience. In his case they were mullet, hundreds of them.

Re: Yet another flying fish video

Down here mullets are notorious for jumping and at times landing in the boat. One time going back to our camp at night we were going around a curve when a nice sized mullet jumped and hit my 11 year old son in the mouth. My son was in the front of the boat holding the light so I could see to drive. No moon out that night.

The mullet knocked off my son's hat, there was blood everywhere from the cut on the inside of his mouth, and of course there was my son screaming bloody murder. It took a few minutes to get things back to normal and on our way again. The son had a nice cut on the inside of the mouth with a bruised lip and the mullet escaped to jump another day.

We named that curve in the bayou "Mullet Curve" and to this day we have a good laugh everytime we go around it.

Such good times taking your kids fishing.
