OK, I have a 15ft CC (VIP Seasquirt), v-hulll in front and a very slight v in the back, a 60hp Merc 2-stroke. 5500 rpm is the manufacturer max.

Currently my prop is a Michigan aluminum prop (031057) 10 1/2 x 13p. With my typical load I get 5400 rpm and about 31mph (gps) with this prop.

I am considering a SS prop and happened to find one from a private seller that is a Ballistic SS prop 12 3/8 x 15p.

Before I go through the trouble of testing this prop on my setup I was hoping to get some feedback from you all! Whats your thoughts on the potentially new prop producing the same rpm as my current one? Will top end increase/decrease? Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Yet another prop comparison

First, are you sure a prop with that much more diameter is going to clear? Second it's really hard (and unfair) to compare 2 props that are of different styles and manufacturers. Step 1 - make sure it'll clear.

Good point, that would be a nice place to start!
