1986 24' SunTracker Party Barge (small dia toons)
Installed used 1988 Evinrude XP150 which came off a bass boat, consequently, the prop has a pretty steep bite.
14.25 X 22 Raker, SS
WOT under light to moderate loading approx. 3500 RPM yielding about 22 MPH.

Using the numbers 300 to 400 rpm change for 2" pitch change suggested in the article "How to Choose a Prop" I calculate a maximum of 17".

Is this a good starting point?
Should I go for a large diameter (largest listed in iboat prop shop is 16" for this motor)?
Should I consider a 4 blade prop?

Thanks for your input.

Re: Yet another "which prop" question.

most pontoons I see have a 13-15 pitch, but I have never seen a 150 on a 24' toon before, so you are in uncharted territory. 22 is way too high, 17 much closer, a 15P 4 blade may be better than a 17P 3 blade. but only some experimenting will tell. see if you can borrow some props, 17P 3 blades are common.
