Wow,Realgun, nice repair work on the flooring of your Bayliner Capri. Unfortunatly, a lot of boaters up here don't dry out / maintain their boats, and a few builders, such as Bayliner take shortcuts in construction.

Good luck with your project!

fp
Believe it or not there were no Shorcuts in construction just the way they and others have done it in the past. It would have been solid for the fact they left the floor unsealed otherwise it was very rough getting the stuff out I will attest to. As to thin bayliners thats bologny. The hull is fairly thick and strong. I should know I have nicked it in lots of places. I like the guy at the dealer we have here he looks at the bottom of the boat for me and claims the gel coat is thin on bayliners. That was really funny seeing as the whole area was scraped by the previous owner on the beaches and there is very little left. Yes its thin but not from the factory.
I might even mix up the marine tex and coat the bottom then install a keelguard! Next week!

Well guys no snow but it been raining for 2 days!
The weather should improve Tuesday -Thursday.
Will be doing a lot in those three days!!!
Being a little off-topic, Reelgun, well about the Bayliners, I think a lot of their bad rep. comes from the fact thats its an entry boat, most first time owners are non experienced boaters, leave boat sitting uncovered during wither and autumn. Many brands dont like that.
Cant spell maintenance. I never seen thinner laminate og gell coat on B-liners than others. Some car brands suffer from same problem, some just arnt build strong.
once again..Its all depending on whos behind that airless gelcoat gun.(and laminators) which makes a good solid boat.
some have less..some have more..bayliner or sea ray..or etc. It depends on a DAILY basis !
The crew on the boat makes the boat..you guys need to understand its not in the name..its the name of the guys building the boat... and do they rush it..or not..

Consistancy is what makes a good boat name..Quality controll..but after you lamo a boat its not gonna be tossed out..just repaired in spots..

YD

PS. Im hoping the Snow will go away soon
