I had a similar but different oops. It was my Brothers boat. A 17' stern drive Appollo. The first time out for the year. We were steelhead fishing behind McNary Dam on the Columbia river in Oregon. It is a slow troll mile + across the river there. We had covered all of the bases. (ya right). We had changed the oil, filled with fresh gas, made double sure the plug was in. My Brother and I were up front, His and my better halfs were in the rear jump seats. We were nearly across the mile wide section when the Brothers wife asked if there was supposed to be water on here feet. Not knowing where it was coming from, and probably not the best soulution, we headed as fast as our heavy boat would take us back to the launch a long mile away. We discovered, after hauling out, that we had forgotten to close the manifold drain cocks after winterizing. It sinks slower that way, but sink it will.
