Yeah food is where my head keeps going with this thread . . . but not fowl. When I read "Young Kauw" a nice charbroiled Veal Chop keeps coming to mind . . . Yum!

Found it dead this morning.

Sorry about yer bird: Turin. I bet crows would make good pets as they are soooo darn smart. That is what makes them soooooo irritating out in the wild. When I get out my 22 rifle they know it right away. If I don't have a gun that I'm willing to bring out they will sit on a branch just out of reach and CAW CAW CAW in yer face 'cause they know ya can't do much about it. JR

Sorry to hear that, Turin.

My wife owns/runs a petsitting service so she is a real animal lover & very knowledgeable about them - kids in the neighborhood always bring her "lost" baby birds & rabbits to rehabilitate. She has found that abandoned baby animals never survive long, no matter how well you try to care for them.

Apparently, the mothers don't throw them out of the nests for no good reason (guess there really is something to that natural selection stuff).

If you want a pet bird, consider one of the "talking" types - they can be loads of fun!

i'm sorry man. at least you gave it compassion.

i've had a few various kinds of animals come around me too. rabbits, squirrls, birds. i've decided the best thing to do is to take the animal to the "wildlife resucue". that's what we have here in my city. volenterers that are aware of how wild animals live and the treatment they need to eventually be released back into the wild....maybe your city has something like this program......
