Your choice for cleaning (hull)?

Just wondering what everyone likes to use for cleaning "mild" lake scum and Road tar? Is Simple Green safe to use on gel coat?

I use toilet bowl cleaner to clean the stains and such. Not sure what it would do to tar though....

I use Goo-B-gone for road tar and I rinse quickly with water. I don't know if it will damage gelcoat if left on. 409 for scumlines and exhaust residue.
