I'd have to say The Who, Quadrophenia in '96. It was outstanding.

One of the best of my times concert was at a Jimmy Buffet concert. All my friends told me that I had a great time even though it was a bit clouded for me then. :D

Re: Your Favorite Concerts

I've seen Yes live around 10 times - thru all their incarnations - always a great show. Best one was with Peter Frampton & Boston at the old JFK stadium in Philadelphia (probably 1977?) - that was like being in a temple & getting a visit from the gods when I was an impressionable teen.

Funny - now those guys play in much smaller venues & you can get up-close to them a lot easier - they just seem like regular joes.

Pink Floyd, Tina Turner and the "Strolling Bones" provided the most memorable performances of my concert attending experience. ;)

Let's see now...Janis Joplin, Grand Funk Railroad, Led Zeppelin, Canned Heat, Allman Brothers, Jimmi Hendrix, Ten Wheel Drive, Chuck Berry, Chicago Transit, Santana, Sweetwater, Creedence, Blood Sweat & Tears and oh yea, did I mention Zeppelin.

Not several concerts, but all in one concert - Atlanta Raceway, July 4th weekend, 1969.

10 years of the Kansas City Jazz Festival.
It would be impossible to pick one year or even one performance. The practice jam sessions were as much fun as the stage shows.
When you are close enough to reach out and touch a Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz, Dave Brubeck, it is a real high with no chemical help.

Re: Your Favorite Concerts

1. Pink Floyd (technically Roger Waters) Dark Side of the Moon
2. Tom Petty with Bo Diddley
3. Hootie and the Blowfish
4. Anything at Summerfest......tough to choose. 15 or so stages, music all day long for a week and half.

Re: Your Favorite Concerts

The best one was in the Amsterdam Woods in 1970. My first Pink Floyd concert with America as the warm up group.
Then of course there was Grateful Death and the Jefferson Airplane jam sessions.
Some other great ones were the Cream Concerts in '68 and Zeppelin ,again in Amsterdam.
Honesty obliges me to tell that these may not have been the best concerts, but the smoke made them heavenly.

Re: Your Favorite Concerts

#1.... Eric Clapton, 2004, at the Office Depot center (ft. Lauderdale/Sunrise)... For weeks before I was thinking how great it would be the hear him play "Let it rain"......... It was the first song on the set list, and I was absolutely blown away thru the entire show..... Robert Randolph and the Family Band opened for Clapton, I was was very impressed by them also...

Alabama and CDB at the south FL. Fairgrounds, many moons ago (mid 80's) when I was just a lil' snapper.. I saw a good bit Alabamas' set while sitting on some great big good ol' boys shoulders in the front row standing about 20 feet from the stage..:D

Buddy Guy at the Kravis center...For concert hall that is supposed to have great acoustics, the sound system they have in there, BITES!... Buddy was great tho..:)

Who I want to see next?....
Brian Setzer with the Big band... :D
I'd settle for the Stray Cats...

Re: Your Favorite Concerts

Female vocalists seem to be missing from your lists.

Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt, and Anne Wilson were all great in the 70's.
But I really enjoyed Sass Jordan.

But Best female vocalist for a me is Suzy Bogguss.

Every single note she sang, would hit you right in the prostrate. :)

I'd have to say "Little Feat" when they were doing their "Waitng for Columbus" tour. They played the Jackson City Auditorium and it was fine. Right up there with it was Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Robert Cray all played the city auditorium on the same night. They each did their own show then at the end all three came on stage and jamed. That was good stuff!

Re: Your Favorite Concerts

I can't say it's the best concert I've ever seen but it was one of the most enjoyable: Blue Oyster Cult on their Godzilla Tour. Another would be Rush on their Xanadu tour. I've seen a lot of really good concerts, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Boston, ELO, Heart, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Yes, Bad Company, oh man the list could go on and on, although many are blurry they must have been good. :p :p

My first concert was memorable - Chicago at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

Next best AC/DC, Robert Plant opened for them, Bon Jovi was great too and, I actually went to a jam session with Stevie Ray Vaughn, BB King, Lightening Hopkins, Eddie Harris and a few other blues and jazz artists one New Year's Eve, and I will never forget that one.
