My wife will be working, the weather is to cold for swimming, and the river is to high for fishing. I guess I'll just be tinkering around the house and maybe grilling up some vittles in the afternoon.

No real plans this weekend because I know we will be called out to look for a person or persons who have drawn. Please if you are boating wear your PFDs.

Have a great one.

Relaxing at home! Then later today we have about 15 people coming over (my wife's co-workers). It was intended to be an outdoor thing however, with the weather I suspect we will all be inside.

OMC yes the river's are too high, the wind is blowing too hard to relax at the lake and it is colder.

We'll be joining my wife's sister and family and another couple with kids at Fort Leavenwoth. We spread out a blanket on the Fort's golf course and enjoy an afternoon of live music, frisbee and picnicking. Then at dusk, they put on a fabulous fireworks display over the little lake on the golf course. As you know, nobody blows "stuff" up like the U.S. Army!

Got together with some boat people over at the local marina last night and had a little party. Covered dish and had a DJ playing tunes. Fireworks all around us.

Rest of the holiday weekend will likely be spent watching it rain.....:|:|.....including the 4th. Clouds rolling in now. OH Well...may as well work on the toon. Installing a new switch/fuse panel. One of those, Illgetaroundtoit jobs.

Got a slip in Port Washington for the holiday, running down to Milwaukee to watch the fireworks from the boat. They shoot them out over the harbor.

Summerfest is going on, so at least one afternoon there is on the agenda, which one I don't yet know.

Happy Fourth of July to everyone.

I'm going to Summerfest today............bound to be an expensive afternoon. For those of you who dont know. http://www.summerfest.com/

For the 4th I will be camping just a bit north of Stevens Point.

We'll be rafting up on the Potomac to watch the fireworks go off over the Lincoln Memorial. Saturday night we watched fireworks on Lake Anna. Thank God for gps when navigating at night!

We be swimming and BBQing at my BIL's at noon. Then off to mom's for the 5 o'clock meal. Then pawn the littlest aspeck off with her Grandma and She-who-must-be-obeyed and I will take the bike to State College for their fireworks display and shin-dig. Will certainly be a full day if the weather and plans hold.

Re: Your plans for the 4th?

We have a ring of fire around the little lake where I live. That is tonight so we'll be out on the water weather permiting. We have friends and family coming down this afternoon so will have a cookout, outside fire, and then about 9 or 9:30 we'll go out on the water for the ring of fire and then fireworks to follow. This year I have the little MFG on a hoist so don't have to fight the idiots at the ramp at 11pm when everyone tries to pull out at once!
