It was raining. It wasn't crowded, but my precinct never is. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes which is usually the case. We had 8 Diebold machines and all of them were in service. I have no way of knowing if my vote will be counted correctly or at all, but there were no problems with the machines as far as I know. It was very quiet in there. Everyone was serious, which I think is good.

My precinct is a little building that's rented out for all occasions. I think the last time I was there I was enjoying a cold beer and some deep fried turkey. It works well for either.

I've been out an about today and only saw a handful of people wearing their "Georgia Voter" stickers. Less than than half of the people I work with have no intention of voting. I tell them if they don't vote, they have no right to complain. Most think it doesn't matter. I think they're just lazy. These are not the type of people that are informed about anything so it's probably best they don't vote anyway.

It seems to be a tradition around here to sell BBQ plates on election day so I'm about to go check that out. Some hot brunswick stew and piece of cornbread would be perfect for a dainy day such as it is.

That's my experience today. :)

We vote at the Armory/National Guard building. 5 Minutes, we had paper ballots and they scan them as you leave. I saw it add mine to the list of already collected (94) ballots.

It was basicly the same as the primary election. I went at 6:30 AM so it may be busier later.

Fire Hall here. I am a poll watcher. Sitting her watching right now. been busy, higher participation than usual. Only one messed up ballot so far - about 350 have voted so far. Paper ballots with a scanner on the way out. Working well, all is calm as usual. Cold and rainy, but hasn't dampened the turnout from either party.

No problem. 10 minute wait. everyone was business.

Was listening to Rush at lunch and he played a tape of all the media talking points so far....it went like this," VOTING IREGULARITIES BEING REPORTED! (repeat phrase about 14 times with a different commentator each). Why are we not surprised?:}

In and out in less than 10 minutes. I was voter 793, I'm sure the big rush will be when everyone else gets out of work at 5.

What referendums did you guys have? We have Marraige (Between man and woman only) and the Death Penalty.

Early ballots are not counted unless they are needed.
I can't believe they didn't tell you this!

They put early votes aside and only bring them out in case of a very close vote.

Were you too young to see what happened with absentee ballots in Florida in 2000?

They went through them one by one -- tossing out the Democratic votes -- I'm not making this up it was done on live TV!

and then they "allowed" absentee military votes that were postmarked WEEKS AFTER ELECTION DAY.

I'm not making this up: it actually happened! It was all done in front of the cameras.

Jimmy Carter said the way elections are done in the US would be illegal in every other nation in the world. They wouldn't stand for it.

I don't live in Florida, and these are not absentee ballots. Every vote is counted, because everyone votes by mail. Oregon's vote by mail system has proven itself to work much, much, MUCH better than the BS going on in other states.

Just got back from voting. 48 degrees and drizzle. Not crowded. It was at the village hall. Voting machines where you pull levers.

Re: Your voting expierence today.

My voting experience was good. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes. I took my son with me to vote....it was his first time to vote.

On another note, I'm also involved with the voting process in my county. We use the Diebold machines and we have to test every one of them and set them for election prior to sending them out. The main problems that have arisen in our county comes from the poll workers that didnt attend the classes we set up to train them on the new machines and the new process. Then polls close here at 7 oclock and then I'll go to the circuit clerks office and help tabulate the votes. I'm not real sure how long that will take. THis is my second election to be involved with and the third one that these machines have been used in.
