It was raining. It wasn't crowded, but my precinct never is. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes which is usually the case. We had 8 Diebold machines and all of them were in service. I have no way of knowing if my vote will be counted correctly or at all, but there were no problems with the machines as far as I know. It was very quiet in there. Everyone was serious, which I think is good.
My precinct is a little building that's rented out for all occasions. I think the last time I was there I was enjoying a cold beer and some deep fried turkey. It works well for either.
I've been out an about today and only saw a handful of people wearing their "Georgia Voter" stickers. Less than than half of the people I work with have no intention of voting. I tell them if they don't vote, they have no right to complain. Most think it doesn't matter. I think they're just lazy. These are not the type of people that are informed about anything so it's probably best they don't vote anyway.
It seems to be a tradition around here to sell BBQ plates on election day so I'm about to go check that out. Some hot brunswick stew and piece of cornbread would be perfect for a dainy day such as it is.
That's my experience today.
