My grease gun does not seem to fit the zerks on my Optimax (its 1/8npt nozzle/coupler is too small so grease goes everywhere except into the fitting). What am I missing? Sorry for such a simple question, but never have had this problem on my John Deere tractor, etc. Does Mercury use a different size grease gun? Thanks

My grease gun does not have an adjustment. In fact, I've never had a grease gun with an adjustment. Is there a special adjustable nozzle that is required?

Geez, I am 73 years old and still learning something new everyday. Great video. I guess I just had the nozzle screwed on "all the way" so that it didn't leave room to grip the zerk. Now I need to figure out the next comment in this thread about this being the wrong fitting anyway. Thanks for your great reply!

STOP...Those are the bleeder/purge fittings for hydraulic steering
So, a blessing to have not pumped grease into it I guess :) I thought I was following the directions in the attached picture. Is the picture for mechanical steering while the fitting is actually for hydraulic steering? This is the first boat I have had with hydraulic steering (vs manual). Also, then is the only lubrication zerk for the tilt?

Robby. Have a read again please. You’ve miss understood what I’ve said. Laughing at inexperience is something I’ve never been guilty of. Ignorance is just ignorance. These are your assumptions. Not the reality of the comment. As suggested. Have another read. Don’t be so paranoid and you’ll do much better at it. All the best.

So what does "keen to hear more about these adjustable grease guns...haha" mean? What is funny about that? Your comment had zero value. All you did was repeat something that had already been said and then added your sarcastic "humor." Let's drop it, but maybe you should read your post again.

Robby. Maybe just forget it. But if you needing reassurance, then it was a reply to someone else’s post about a grease gun being adjustable.
don’t worry about it. Don’t let it ruin your day. All the best.

Read it again. If you still don’t understand the grammar and the resultant deflection to another matter...forget it
