Figuring out my 72 Triumph 65, ZERO compression in the center cylinder, plug looks steam cleaned but top and bottom is looking normal and hitting the numbers I am expecting, I have already ordered my powerhead gasket kit, checked the cylinder with a camera, bore looks fine and the piston isn't rocking either. Could a head gasket blow so bad that I get ZERO compression on the cylinder ?

Take the head off now.-----A blown head gasket can result in ZERO compression.-----But somehow I do not believe you will like what you see with the head off.-----Post some pictures.

You hit the nail on the head 🤣 I don't feel deep scoring, just some carbon and what I assume is aluminum smeared to the wall which is flaking off. Debating parting it out now vs pulling the piston, honing the cylinder and slapping a new one in just to see what happens. The mating surface of the head I can get done locally for cheap from a reputable machine shop so I am debating it hard.

I'm a marine composite guy by trade so this engine work is all new to me so I figure it's a good lesson to learn.

No surprise to me.----That will NOT buff out with a cylinder hone.-----Take the engine apart.----Inspect all parts.----Needs 3 new improved pistons in my opinion.----Some will argue but there were issues ( thin piston skirts ) with early 3 cylinder loopers.
