Re: zero compression in #1 cylinder 1981 3.8l
UPDATE: Ok so I figured it is time for an update. Got my new set of heads in today so got to put the motor back together again. I followed the manual and everything went back together fine minus a broken head stud. Always double check rental tools. Lucky for me it snapped mid way along the bolt shaft so I was able to back the broken part out easy. I did not get to bolt up exhaust or do the distributor as I ran out of time today. But I did do a compression test and what you know, the number 1 cylinder that was showing no compression before is now showing compression. Good compression across all cylinders. Now I just need to finish up the exhaust and set the distributor and hopefully it will all fire up. Now I know I need to have the drive all the way lowered and have the muffs hooked up before I try to start it up, is there anything else I need to do? Thanks for all your help.
