I am transitioning from fresh to salt water now that I'm stationed in key west. But I noticed there are no spots for zincs on my force? WTF?? I was under the impression all outboards are made with spots for them ....guess not...Anyway where and how do I install some!! Super Salty here! Don't wanna ruin her too fast! Thanks

News to me. Check under the mounting bracket at the transom for a zinc bar or spot for one. You probably already checked under the aft end of the ventilation place. Another spot may be through the aft end of the lower unit just above the prop or ventilation plate. That's the obvious places I know about.

If you have a motor that was manufactured before Mercury took over, it's mounted in the cavity in front of the propeller on the lower unit. You have to take the prop off to see it. It's held in place with two screws and is round. If you have a later model, the they are mounted on each side of the lower unit just below the cavitation plate.

Take your prop off and you will see it (if someone hasn't taken it off).

So the only zinc is behind the prop? Is that enough to protect my whole motor?

As long as you don't leave it in the water next to a boat charging their battery you will be fine.
