Greetings from Atlanta,

I recently picked up a used Zodiac 1986, a trailer and a 1993 25hp long shaft 2 stroke evinrude for $3K. The boat has been very well cared for and doesn't have a single repair she holds air pretty well. The floor board is basically aluminum except for the wooden part that sits inside the nose. This part unfortunately broke off on the weekend. Does anyone on the forum have a drawing on this piece or know how complicated it is to replace?

If anyone else has further info on the craft in general I would highly appreciate it. I have noted other models with similar issues on the forum.

Thanking you in advance,
Joe

How long is the sib ? Depending if it's a sharp point model, you could have 2 panel floorboards at bow. Take broken parts to any wood shop and make same with 16 mm playwood sheets, cut exact to match original ones, add 3 hands of epoxic base, let dry well, paint with at least 2-3 hands of epoxic paint.

Thanks for the reply and advise! The boat is 13.7 feet long and has a round nose. I managed to order some new rubber seals for the metal caps. If you have any advise on the best online store for Zodiac parts it would be really appreciated.

Joe, what did you do to fix this problem? I just bought an older achilles that sounds exactly like what you are describing and I am trying to figure out the best way to fix it. My boat has aluminum floors and then two wooden pieces in the bow with only one broken. It is flexes badly when I am trying to plane the boat. Thanks.

At one time I replaced the entire floor of my Achilles LS5 with HDPE which worked out very well. There is a post here somwhere on it. No sanding, painting, rotting or staining and after lots of use it still looks great. The boards do flex just like plywood, maybe slightly less, but I compensate by flipping over each time I set the boat up. If you're going leave the boat set up for a long time extra reinforcement underneath would be beneficial. Plywood, HDPE or possibly a piece of aluminum.

Guys i managed to find a new upper wooden floorboard on ebay - check it out. What's the best way to separate the old rubber?
