Is there anything I can put on the trailer tires to keep them from weatering? We're just weekend fishermen, and the tires wear out from weather, before the tread wears. I've thought about covering them, but that's not an option. Thanks Doug

Why is covering the tires not an option. Tire covers are inexpensive and easy to slip on and off. Keeping a good coat of Armorall or any other tire protectant is about the only other option.

I have seen people prop a chunk of plywood against the tires to block the direct sun.

Im also curious as to why covering the tires is not an option.........

I live in Florida and the sun will destroy everything eventually that is not metal... moisture takes care of that. Most folks who park trailers or RV here usually cover their wheels with those semi-round canvas covers that fit right over the tire.

The boat sets out, in our back yard.We live in town, on a big hill. The wind blows here all the time. How does the covers hook on, and where do you get them. I've seen them on campers, but never been around them. I just think they will blow off, and be at neighbors. Thanks Doug

You can get them where they attach to the fender with either snaps or magnets. You could also get them for your size tire that will slip over the tire under the fender. Any RV shop should be able to point you in the right direction, that is where I got mine for my enclosed trailer that I only use like 3 time's a year.

Im sure that could be alleviated with a little rope....

I just bungee old garbage can covers over them for protection from the sun. The plastic ones don't even look too shabby.

2nd on the 303 Aerospace... I use it on everything rubber and plastic on my boats and cars from day one. On the boat, I also use it on the aluminum windshield frame.
