Are we going to have to wait until the Giants win another game before we hear from him again??

That could take months.

The problem with treating your favorite team's success as a personal triumph is that sometimes they lose.

You've really got your vineger up today, don't you JB? First you take me on in insurance, now you are teasing Angus about his Giants?
Who peed in your Corn Flakes today? :) Or should I ask, who sprinkled your brownies?! ;)

Nah, just gotta wait till I get home. I'm stimulating the economy and taste buds of the Northeast. I commercial fish on my "days off" and have been out for the last 24 hrs. I'll write more when I get some sleep.

Re: Where is Angus?

Here I am!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Patience JB, patience. These NFL reports don't write themselves.

Flattered you missed me so... :)

Once the ocean water temps dip below sixty degrees, I spend all my available time filling the holds with tasty fish for market. When my NY Giants are finished, I spend Sunday night and all day Monday frolicking in the Atlantic. Put a dent in the blackfish biomass this weekend! Bon appetit!

Last two weeks someone beat me to the punch to post about the NFL games so I just tagged on to their thread with my disappointment. I didn't get to see any other games or highlights last two weeks so my comments were limited.

Giants wins are not personal triumphs to me as you suggest, but reason to celebrate. Similar to how I feel when my daughter scores a soccer goal or my son intercepts and returns for a touchdown (both of which happened Saturday- thank you very much!). Losses do drag me down. Sorry, occupational hazards of a fan(atic).

Next Sunday is a 4pm eastern daylight savings time home game against SD Chargers so I wont get home till about 10pm, and then I'm off to the deep blue about 3am Monday till about 11pm Monday night. I have two classes to teach Tuesday morning and afternoon, and then I'll be home around 4pm Tue. Quick nap, some dinner, and I'll be on the forum around 8pm. Sit tight and I'll have you a report to peruse by 2100hrs Tue before I finally turn in. I'll be sleeping in Wed morn and then hitting Applebees up on their generous offer Wed eve with the Mrs. so please don't worry if I'm tardy in reply.

Enjoy!!:)

I am with you there, Angus.

Personal pride in the accomplishments of a descendant are entirely different matter. You did/do have something to do with that and we rejoice with you. Pretty cool athletes. :)

Just thought I would needle you a little about the Giants. You haven't done this (yet?), but one of my pet peeves are people who describe their favorite team's fortunes as "we won", but "they lost".

Re: Where is Angus?

Thanks! All is well! Wish I could say the same about the G-men.

My son has been a Giants fan for a lot of years through bad times and good. Being an Englishman I knew nothing of football but he has been helping me out for the last 5 years and now I am enjoying watching the games. Trouble is though with where we live the Giants games are not always televised. We end up watching it streamed in on the computer.

Welcome to the BLUE!!! I totally concur with your team choice! The last 5 years have been pretty exciting for our Giants so you are pretty lucky. There have been some extended droughts. Let's hope the good stuff continues...

If you look about 1.5 miles WSW of the bookmark you'll see the campus!! You can zoom in close enough to ID my truck in the parking lot. The detail zoomed fully is pretty awesome!

We will allow you to crow about the Yankees IF they prevail, but only if you don't take any personal credit for it. :)

No, No. Don't try and take that away from us. We can't take personal credit, thats a given but "We" can have personal Pride in the teams that "We" root for.

I grew up in Queens,NY under the shadow of Shea stadium and have been a lifelong Met fan. My daughter is a Yankee fan (Derek Jeter fan actually) and I root for her!!! Being it's against the Phillies, I am really only rooting for a close series with good games....can they both lose???;)
