Hi all,
I just bought this boat & trailer this past weekend for $400 and am hoping it turns out to be worth it when it is all done and drivable again.
So I am a total newbie to the I/O world. The past boats I have owned were all outboards. I'm not 100% sure there is anything missing in my outdrive and have
tried to look at as many exploded views as I can but it is hard to tell. The trim/tilt gear isn't installed right now because all the bolts are broken off in it right now. I am going to try taking it to my local machine shop and see if they can get the bolts out.
Here is what the boat looks like and as you can see it isn't a bad looking hull.
Now here is where the badness starts.............This interior is trashed beyond any help. I am going to have to completely rebuild the whole interior.
I so far have only found one shop to redo my interior. They are located in southern CA and I am up in central WA. If I have to I will haul the boat to CA
to get the interior redone but I sure wish I could find a quality shop closer.
So what does everyone think of this boat? It is made by Galaxie in CA and I have been having a heck of a time trying to find information about the boats they made.
Any info anyone else has would be most helpful. If I look here on iboats it comes up with a 1979 boats being a XL2200 is the only one that is the right size and HP rating. And that is for the Galaxie Boat Works. What I can find on my boat is it is a Galaxie Boat Inc of CA. So I really could use some help figuring out what model I have. I also need to figure out what my boat weight is because I need to find the unloaded weight of my trailer is so I need to weigh the boat and trailer and then take the weight of the boat off.
Thanks for any help.
