Hi All,
A couple of guys have just reported a severe issue occuring at just a few dozen hours with 2.1L 4-strokes and resulting in connecting rod breaking apart and damaging cylinder block, in particular with a 2016 Merc F115CT and a 2015 Merc F80 reported in Russia here (there appear to be a lot more of those affected, in fact the OP got exact same issue once again following Mercury funded block replacement):

and with a 2016 Merc F100 reported in Australia here (by Bryon of Redland Bay, Other on July 9, 2017):

Any clues what's causing it and ideally some bulletin on this issue? I've seen several posts on a similar symptom with Yamaha F80/F100 and less frequently with 4-stroke Mercs sharing the same 1.596L block a few years earlier (the root cause believed to be restricted oil supply to something in the bottom cylinder, I think to a valve leaving it stuck open) but this one is a different block.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. Hope it's not a taboo topic to discuss here )
