Ok got my engine done now I wanna go through the drive. I wanna change the water pump with base. Check water pocket cover. Pressure check drive and so forth. Anyways here are some pics so far along with my drive jack. I already had the motorcycle lift so this is what I came up with so far. Later on I'll weld me a adapter up to slip in the 2x2 tubes so I can use as motorcycle jack or drive jack. Any help along the way to complete this will be very helpful. I run in lake erie so wanna have a good rig.

A couple questions so far. After I drain the oil I can pressure check my drive from top or bottom right. And around 12 to 15 psi. The other question is do you guys clean the old mating gasket off the drive with a razor or what do you use.

Check your gimball bearing, and grease it if it's greasable. Check your drive shaft bellows for any oil, as well as it's condition and the shift cable bellows' condition. If all is good, and the drive holds pressure, I'd say you're good to go.

Yep no oil in bellows. I'm gonna replace bellows and gimbal. No leaks in bellows but dry rotting pretty good.

Change the shift cable bellows too then. It's causes nearly as many problems as the DS bellows. Actually, do all three while you've gone to the trouble of pulling the bell hsg.

Update. Got the drive split. I need a new Allen screw for the trim tab cause somebody rounded it out. It was a trip getting that out. Split drive and ended up with two round o rings. I know one came off the spline and not sure where the other one came from. Also got water pocket cover removed. Little heat they came right loose. On top where the shaft splines in there is a little oil around there. Not sure if that's normal or not. Drive held a out 13psi before I split without dropping for about 15 20 min. Anyways here we are so far. Any tips highly appreciated

Update. Got the pump housing and the pump base stripped off shaft. But I am seeing something I am not sure about here. I believe I have a problem and need a hand. I noticed the shaft has some play. Looks to be a bearing under the pump base and there is some movement in this bearing. Quite a bit in my opinion. Looks to be like the bearing is moving around the outside of bearing and race and or case. Is this normal? I checked to see if drive held pressure before I split it and it did no leaks. Can you post a short video on this forum and I will take a little video. Also if this is not right how do I go about this. Looks like that is a nut there and that spins out of case thanks mate
