Midwest flooding has cost many a lot of loss. Lucky we're just inconvenienced. But I'll still whine. We finally opened our Dubuque IA Miss river place yesterday. 19' gauge, just low enough to cross the road to get in. Pic shows 18.6' today. Nine feet above normal, seven feet above where I can put in the rest of our marine rail lift.
We went over to turn on the water and for me to check rumors of ice damage on the submerged part of the shore permanent lift structure shown. USACE river forecasts say it'll be a couple more weeks before I can see anything.
This is our eighth year owning the place, and our fifth waiting until late June-early July to get the lift and boat in due to high water. Consolation is the view and neighbors are great. First World Problem (FWP) whining here. Sorry. I'm using the slack time to fix my neighbors Cobra O/D.
