No electronic ignition does not change your timing
I think this is way better then the old points and condenser
but would at this point go to a better stronger coil and better spark plug wires
Make sure you get the correct coil for what wver electronic conversion you have
Mallory requires a ballast resistor (same coil as your points). Follow the mallory instructions
you either have a mallory electronic pickup or a pertronix. you would have to look and follow their instructions.
so depending on which module you have, get the appropriate coil.

the third one is the standard pickup for non-converted Mallory dizzy.
look at the installation instructions for each one. they specifically call out primary coil winding resistance. I believe 1.5 ohm.
My Seloc shows 13 degrees base timing on my 1988 305, I would think 350 would be similar. 10 is a good start.
