Wal-mart has Super-tec lower unit lube works just fine in your motor. https://www.walmart.com/search/?quer...%20gear%20lube
That article is a bunch of BS. Any 2 strk motor uses a total loss oil system. That means the oil goes through the motor and is not recirculated. So where do these molecules stay. Your engine does not know the difference between synthetic and regular oil. The only thing that article proves is any idiot can write a blog. I have mixed synthetics with conventional oil and never had a problem.
The only difference I found running Pennzoil Premium TC-W3 Semi-syn. is that it smokes less in the same engine before I used PZ. Mercury won't tell you what's in it's oil sitting next to the PZ oil at twice the price.
I have picked upon some of the big guns talking on here and they mention that in areas like S. Florida (ones home) using a blend works better for engines sitting up as the dyno oil does a better job of preventing corrosion when sitting up.....his words, not mine and he did have some big toys and lots of knowledge/experience.
