I replaced the bellows and also redid the y pipe. I put boat in water and there is a steady stream coming from just above the top y pipe bolt. Any suggestions

Leaking when in the water or on muffs?

Broken speedo hose? Loose or bad water inlet fitting? Did you remove the drive again and see if the bellows has again taken in water? Can also be a transom seal. A rotten transom or a broken bolt.

water over damn now, but after my transom rebuild, including new y pipes connected, I filled my bilge to almost go into gimbal bearing with tape water and checked for leaks. U sure that your y pipe gasket (o ring) didn't slip??????

Another possibility could be the rubber ring that seals the upper driveshaft housing to the inside of the bell housing. If the ring was not glued in or was pulled down when the drive was installed.

I haven't ran it on muffs yet.still waiting for dizzy. It's leaking below the drive shaft and above y pipe. I haven't pulled drive yet but I guess I will

My suspicion is the top portion of y pipe isn't sealed correctly as the water leak is coming from the top

Here are some pictures of y pipe. I ran water down both pipes and water was going into bilge.

both surfaces don't look smooth. They need to be a smooth as possible. Did you forget or dislodge the smaller o rings.

The orings were still in place...the roughness is silicon. I'm not sure what you mean about vent.holes

I used red rtv and it isn't really all that stuck so I'm to believe it isn't the right sealant

That's what it looked like when the engine was still in. I pulled engine and the drive. Ran water with a hose down both exhaust pipes it it was leaking out the bottom. Mine looks different then that pic...2 round holes. 1 big one and has o rings. They were all still in place. Now if running water only down the pipes isolates that center peice as the issue right

running water from inside and seeing a leak at the Y pipe connection is :
a corroded Y pipe
a corroded transom housing
a missing O ring

Now the fact that the inside of drive bellows was dry rules that out...and the exhaust bellows was wet and a bad seal at y pipe allowed water into bilge. Sound a out right?

Exhaust bellows is always wet. IDK off the top of my head what/if any sealers are supposed to be used on the y pipe...
