Perfect Seal, Evinrude gasket sealer or Permatex Aviation are all good for that application….

If motor is out, I'd examine for corrosion on transom metal. Older Alphas are easier to find than Bravos. You may consider finding a freshwater used one to replace yours if too much corrosion or you have a hairline crack. I'd try to resurface transom pipe connection and y-pipe surface. I know some will disagree, but on older y-pipes that are not so perfect anymore, I'd 5200 o ring in place, while still not cured and install pipe. Just added protection... Fill bilge area with water up to input shaft and check for leaks on other side. Most all of us have been where you are. Good luck!

Not to make a big fuss, couldn't pay me to use 5200 on anything that might ever need taken apart. Almost anything but 5200 is suitable.

What I have done is a nice even coat of sikaflex. Glued O rings in. So shall I install it...or scrape it off and use the permanent aviation I bought

I agree, but when all else fails, punt, "danger close" or 5200. Then, use a bigger hammer. LOL

After resealing everything there is no water coming out of the y pipe with the hose running into down pipes

Just out of curiosity, did you replace shifter boot and clamp? This communication has been too long for my old brain to sift through. You said you replaced bellows but did that include shifter boot?

However the first time I ran the hose into down pipes it was leaking out the y pipe.

Just to confirm what I think I already know the answer....filled the bilge with water...water coming out of exhaust..so I'm assuming y pipe connector
