Perfect sealI grabbed a tube sikaflex 291. How about using that bondo or should I grab a certain kind of permaseal
If motor is out, I'd examine for corrosion on transom metal. Older Alphas are easier to find than Bravos. You may consider finding a freshwater used one to replace yours if too much corrosion or you have a hairline crack. I'd try to resurface transom pipe connection and y-pipe surface. I know some will disagree, but on older y-pipes that are not so perfect anymore, I'd 5200 o ring in place, while still not cured and install pipe. Just added protection... Fill bilge area with water up to input shaft and check for leaks on other side. Most all of us have been where you are. Good luck!Exhaust bellows is always wet. Not to make a big fuss, couldn't pay me to use 5200 on anything that might ever need taken apart. Almost anything but 5200 is suitable. If motor is out, I'd examine for corrosion on transom metal. I agree, but when all else fails, punt, "danger close" or 5200. Then, use a bigger hammer. LOLNot to make a big fuss, couldn't pay me to use 5200 on anything that might ever need taken apart. Almost anything but 5200 is suitable.
4200 is underappreciatedNot to make a big fuss, couldn't pay me to use 5200 on anything that might ever need taken apart. Almost anything but 5200 is suitable.
Just out of curiosity, did you replace shifter boot and clamp? This communication has been too long for my old brain to sift through. You said you replaced bellows but did that include shifter boot? After resealing everything there is no water coming out of the y pipe with the hose running into down pipes
