Hi there

I'm hoping someone could help me out with an issue i'm having with my motor ,
i have replaced the following parts , spark plugs , new leads , CDI box , coil packs x 4 , starter motor , propeller from 17 pitch to 19 pitch , fuel filters x 2 , water seperator filter , fuel line with primer bulb , tune up , compression is at 130 on all cylinders

the problem i had was it appeared to be taking in too much air & bogging down when going into full throttle , after replacing all of the above it appears to be much better but i can't get passed 27.5 knots on flat water , i'm really at a loss as to why this is happening & hoping someone could give me an idea or recommend what the fault could be

regards

Ron

How long have you owned this motor? Did this happen recently? Do you have a factory manual? Were the carbs removed recently? Link and sync done correctly? Accelerator pumps working? Factory manual is a must have for this motor

thank you for your feed back , i have this motor about 12 months now as my old one died & got this 2nd hand complete with svc history which was done before i got it & compression checked , as for the carbs being removed i really cant say as i havent removed them but unsure with previous owner , the main concern is trying to get it up to full throttle as it makes noise but doesn't go any faster , like it's bogging down , i should be getting more power out of it but 27.5 knots is all it does

That is a 2+2 motor so it idles on the top two until 1800 rpm then the bottom 2 cylinders come in. Need a factory manual to set this motor up correctly.

Well your 19" pitch is nor helping matters. Do you have your manual yet? What yr is your motor? If an early one classic signs of high speed windings failing.
