I am redoing a 1997 Stratos 201 pro elite single console...I had some electronics that were not working...everything is still factory, harnesses, panels etc...helm panels have switches with push button breakers right next to them...then harness goes to the bow panel...can someone explain the wiring of, for example, the nav/anchor light ckt...the Helm has 1 switch and the bow has 1 switch for the lights....I am not quite sure how its wired for the switches to work independent of each other...thanks in advance

Several different ways of wiring them. Depends on what switch (configurations) you have to work with

sticking with the Nav anchor lights...the Helm switch is a toggle...left is Nav, middle off, right anchor...bow is the same type toggle...but they have it set going up and down...up nav, middle off, down anchor...

Doesn't answer the question.
Need to know the contact configuration (inside the switch) as to how to wire.

Do you have a part number for the switch?
See link below to determine if switch is SPST, SPDT,DPST and DPDT switches?

It looks to me like both switch 1 at helm and 1 at bow are both DPDT switches...the reset switch is just a in out of course...the colors are grey/black-Nav....grey-anchor...orange/grey- nav/anchir SW +...I have traced them...but some of these wires have been cut and my brain isnt quite understanding how the 2 switches work together...thanks for the help

There are a couple different wiring schems for Nav/Amchor switches. Some use a three terminal switch that requires a diode in the circuit. That diagram is attached. I also have a six terminal switch diagram but am having trouble locating it. 3 Terminal Nav Sw Wiring 2015 (2020_07_29 21_16_56 UTC).JPG

For the on/off/on switch (6 terminal) if I remember right.....
Think of it as 2 switches working together. Use the middle terminal for "light output" for each light. Then power in goes to both sides of "anchor light output" side so in either position power is fed to center term. Then on the other side "nav light output" you feed power to one side terminal and leave the other one disconnected. So then power is fed to the center term from only one "on" position. This gives you "power out on" from both center terms when switch is in one on position and kills one output in the other on spot.

Sorry
"nav" gets power to both sides and "anchor" gets it to one side
