When I twist the U joints after separating from transom there doesn’t appear to be any playin the actual u joints. No noise and they turn smoothly. However there seems to be a bit of dead space with a clunk in the lower unit near the prop. Is this normal or should I be scared?

Here is a video of the movement and the sound.

Stern drive serial number on the upper unit is OL127946

There is nothing abnormal about hearing a clunk from the gears, there is a small amount of space between the gear teeth. When running you should only hear noise when going in and out of gear
