That sucks. It happens fast that’s for sure. I’ve hit three total. Two of them I was on a motorcycle.I hit a deer on the way to work this morning or I should say a deer hit me. Dam thing ran right into the side of me. I saw it spinning around in the road in my mirror then it got up and walked away. They are tough. Rough way to start the day for both of us.![]()
A few years back, I had what I thought was a mirror on a truck coming the opposite direction hit the side of my vehicle. It was dark so visibility was not great. I stopped as did the oncoming driver, we chatted for a couple minutes and he told me a deer ran into the side of my truck. Sure enough a large dent the size of a basketball right in my side door about two feet off the ground, to low for a mirror. Shinning a flashlight out into the field there stood a big buck shaking his head. Appeared to have a broken horn on one side. Lucky for me, I was able to pip the dent back out with a toilet plunger..I hit a deer on the way to work this morning or I should say a deer hit me. Dam thing ran right into the side of me. Times have sure changed. My insurance company didn’t even send an adjuster out to look at the truck. They just had me send them pics and will do the claim remotely.I hit a deer on the way to work this morning or I should say a deer hit me. Dam thing ran right into the side of me. That sucks, glad you're not injured. Yes, the deer always hit the vehicle (as far as you tell the insurance company (although they really don't care bout that anymore)I hit a deer on the way to work this morning or I should say a deer hit me. I had a friend who had a deer run out in front of her and she came to a complete stop on the road, only to hear a thump and feel the car jolt. Deer ran right into her passenger side rear door. $3800 damage occurred while sitting still! LOL!That sucks, glad you're not injured. Those are pretty cool. Some serious iron. Near me we have colebrookdale railroad. Vintage train you can ride. They offer all kinds of ride packages. Have not yet rode it.In Roanoke area on December14 and took these of some Loco's at rest.
I have an original Lionel O gauge J Class with the Powhatan Arrow passenger set. Got the engine for Christmas I think around 1962 or so, used it as child and forgot about it till about '94, pulled it out and rewired it, everything worked including the light, smoke and whistle. Finally bought the passenger set last Christmas! In Roanoke area on December14 and took these of some Loco's at rest.
