I bought barrels from Southern Kentucky Distillery (SKD) 2 years ago. Waiting for them to get to at least 4 before selling. They currently make a 2 yr cherry Bourbon which is pretty good and has won some awards, but I don't think it's worth $60 each

Speaking of bourbon...what's the thought on these high-alcohol content products...such as Elijah Craig (140 proof). I've read that since these are typically not 'cut' with water, that more of the flavors and 'essence' come through...but Jeebus! 140 proof? Can you taste ANYTHING at those levels?

I like the barrel proof stuff. Just like all bourbon, some are better than others. My BIL bought a bottle of Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon a while back. It was fantastic. 143 proof if I recall. Drank like a lower proof. Very smooth all things considered. Packed a punch of flavor and effect. 😋

I know the brothers that started Bully Boy distillery. They gave me a few bottles of stuff to try and I like it all. They make an amazing Amaro. If you like spice it worth a try.

How do you all like it? on the rocks? little water press? I like Jameson and ginger ale just a shot, thing is different parts of the country a bartender will insist on tossing the marinated ice cubes away when making a new drink.

I usually drink my bourbon or rye neat. I do like cocktails made with either. Have a few faves.

Old Fashioned
Maple Bourbon Smash
Maple Bacon diet coke (my own creation)
Bourbon slushies (great summer boat drink)

Those are probably my top 4.

What about the rest of you? 😁

I used to drink a lot of beer , I mean a lot. These days I’ll kick back with a margarita , an Old fashioned, Martini. Still drink a beer here and there. I’ve cut my alcohol consumption down to pretty minimal these days.

Did a lot of traveling for work. Made it a point to try whatever the local speciality was. Wine, beer, cider, schnapps, Sakai, Caipirinha, tequila, Gin, Reposado and way too many Jack Daniel’s or Makers Mark and ginger ale

Now a days, cut way back on beer unless fishing. Corona Extra and Dogfish 60 minute IPA are my go to

Margueritas, Gin and Tonics, Jack and ginger and high noons/white claws at the pool.

Wild Turkey, Crown Royal and Jack Daniel’s single barrel when the boys get together to “sip”
