Here is the stern. Still have to hit the corners where the blocks are currently. I'll do that once I move it back to the trailer.

Here is the port side. You can see where I stopped about 2/3rds up from the stern.

Here are the little scratches. I did some looking at the starboard side and I don't see/feel any scratches in the similarly heavy oxidation areas. I'm still puzzled by what caused these but must be something the previous owner did. It's so strange that they are mostly isolated to the heavy oxidation area on the port side and they are largely vertical, not swirled.

My guess would be that is the side that saw the most sun. Those are cracks in the gel, but likely not the glass. Don't try to sand them out.

I'm putting the eye bolts back into the rear hull and the fit is very tight (I have to use a hammer to force them in). When applying the 5200, I'm thinking I should put some around the threads in the section that will be in the hull cross section, basically where my finger is pointing to in the picture below. As the bolt is inserted, it will fill the hole through the hull. I'll cleanup whatever squishes out the back and front, then secure it with the washer & nut on the back side. That sound right or am I missing something? I want to be sure it's a watertight seal but also don't want 5200 all over the place.

Might use a drill bit just a slight bit larger then the bolt, turning in reverse to give a ever so slight taper in the Gel. Put the bolt half way in or so and apply 5200

Drill slightly larger, run a pipe cleaner through with some resin to coat it. Let that soak in the core and set. Then bed eye in. I'd use boat life. The 5200 alone will eventually shrink and pull away leaving an air space. It isn't what it used to be. If you ever need to replace the boat life is easier to clean up too.

you cant use enough 5200 for something like this. Yes you want it coming out both sides and filling the hole in the hull.

On my sea ray you can see 5200 squeezed out on the inside of fasteners like this. My buddy lost his glastron due to the factory screwing a swim ladder at the water line into the transom and not using enough sealant +> rotten transom

They're tight because the threads are usually not straight, they're spread open just a bit. I run into that with old and new.

It'll just get scraped off as you push the bolt in and make a bigger mess.

What's a good cleaner for fresh 5200? Acetone? I use wax and grease remover when cleaning up silicone.

3m makes an adhesive remover for this, dont recall the part number or name. There are several ones made by others as well. Google it and you will get a bunch of threads and options like below
