Tools I made

Background are all Ducati tools, long skinny puller in foreground I made to push out end of steering cable seized in tilt tube on my outboard .....rather than bash it out with a hammer .

This one is worth it weight in gold
Its a loooong screwdriver with a right angle drive on the end for getting at idle mix screws on the inner carbs on 4 cyl motorbikes. The screws face straight down from the bowl gasket surface . Only other option is to remove carbs and set the screws and hope they are right . Gets tedious real fast .

that's neat! before my house got destroyed, i had a whole section of my lab dedicated to vacuum tubes. Sadly now it's all in a box waiting for me to find a new space. My current lab just has enough room for modern scopes and stuff.

Gee, I was one of the last generation to use a slide rule. I would recognize it, but I doubt I can remember how to use it. Calculators became cheap, and killed it off.

For the younger guys, RPN is Reverse Polish Notation. It was a way of ordering operators and operands to allow calculations by early computers and calculators. It kinda reminds me of roman numerals, where IV is four and VI is six.

The SR-50 was a great calculator. It had more capability than I ever used.

My senior year, high school, 1971, we learned how to use a slide rule.

by 1974 ('75 maybe) the TI- SR50 was carried in it's case on your belt by most college kids, like me. I paid $250.

Somewhere deep in the vault is a backup of our system on floppy drives, like a whole case. Coincidentally we still regularly use tape drives.

I just threw out a bunch of 3.5” discs because I didn’t think I had a way access them. A couple days later I found a drive for them. I also found my first digital camera. It takes 3.5” discs too.

the # on the tach dwell is 660 rpm not 66* of dwell lol.
these 4.3s get 39* + or - 2* dwell angle (point gap .018") and 6* BTDC timing

Jumper to ground and 10* BTC make engine go brrr.

On these oldies with a points distributor with centrifugal advance no jumpers needed! It's all mechanical.

I don't really need the jumper either, just plug the ground side of the shift interruption switch to the purple and set timing. Need a wrench and a timing light. Can use a dial back if you want to be fancy.
