Hate to disagree here.... This trim system's lack of competent engineering is on par with the X-DP drives..... Thus meaning do not pull the cylinders off or touch the trim lines..... Google search VolvoPentaParts@ hotmail.com and grab that cylinder rebuild kit which will repair 2 cylinders...

Bought a remanufactured 4.3 long block. Was supposed to be in stock BUT after calling today they inform me that they have to build it and said Friday shipping or Monday....
Well I'm not holding my breath on that one........
So now I am going to plan B JUST in case the shipping is delayed...
Just bought a new 4.3 long block and need to get a pan gasket, timing over gasket, water pump gasket, etc..... Wondering if anyone knew of a lower, basically a short block gasket set?

Well I broke down and bought a remaned long block..... Needed the piece of mind....
On another note..... I have a top end gasket kit for the 4.3 but am going to require a lower. Anyone know a lower gasket kit part number that includes a pan gasket along with timing cover, water pump gasket...

Put a table in the back today and got my magnifying glass lamp out along with LED lamp.....
Intake is indeed cracked in the valley...... AGAIN WTF.... I immediately went into the engine compartment and AGAIN checked the oil and was clean...
I am usually the one helping but my issue has me finally ask other mechanics their opinion so I can get a fresh point of view...

Issue originated 3 years ago after purchasing the boat...
Not to jump off of subject but the DP-D1 drive was not available in 1994. 1994's drive was the DP-C and at the end of the year a few DP-C1 went out. I only mention this so, if the need arises, you do indeed order the proper parts.

After the SP-C Volvo states to use only fully synthetic 75W-90 gear oil in the SP (single prop) drives.
All DP (Duo Prop) unit are to use FULLY SYNTHETIC 75w-90 gear oil ONLY.
If you want to stick to "same as engine" grade of oil, go with...
