    Update, I took the thermostats out again, blew them out, blew the chamber they sit in out and now getting great temps all around..

    Update, so today I took the thermostats out and blew out all the holes and the chamber it sits in. All of a sudden Im getting temp reads around 150 on the block and heads and over 100 at the thermostats housings. Seems to be fixed....

    After reading on how to determine if its a looper or cross flow it must be a looper as it has 4 carbs not 2.

    I installed a new water pump kit and Im finding out that the thermostats are working but the motor will get hot with them in and run cool with them out

    I put a new water pump kit in and getting good tell tale but it still gets hot. I took the thermostats out and tgey were open. I ran without thermostats and it cooled normaly getting right at 100 degrees. Thermostats closed on the bench. Put them back in and it overheats. Any idea how it could...

    Releasing shift shaft 1995 evinrude 90

    Trying to do water pump service and cant seem to get shift rod loose. I see what needs to be done by puching the linkage twards the block but im hitting the carburetor before it goes far enough to let loose of the shift shaft. Any advice??

    We seem to be having a problem with the engine loosing pree streem at highter rpm. Its pushing a 24 foot pontoon. When we noticed it there was no alarms, I shut it down then fired it back up and it was shooting a good streem. We did this several times with the same reults. Any ideas??

    Possible kill switch problem

    I do have a strong pee stream. I pulled it out just the other day to hook up batteries and start getting it ready and ran on the muffs for bout 15 minutes with no isues. Didn't see how warm the stream was ir take temo on the block but will tomorrow.

    We bought a 1994 pontoon last year with a 90 horse evinrude. Owner stated sometimes it will run for 10, 15 minutes and shut down, then wait another 10 minutes and it'd fire back up.     Johnson ob won't idle

    This is a johnson tracker model and it will not idle. You have to pop it into gear and push up to bout 2200 rpm and it runs out good from there. Compression is 150 on both cyl. New plugs, and actually had it idling on the muffs, that was the last time it would do that. Any advice where to start...
