I have a 5.7 gsi pefs. it has 2 oil senders. The one you replaced goes to the gauge and detects what the pressure actually is. The other is just a switch too tell it there is pressure or not Basically a switch that grounds. See the two on the attached diagram.
On the wiring diagram for my 5.7 gsi pefs there is a pink wire in the harness that goes from distributor to the coil. I can find no information on what it does or how to check it. Does anyone know what happens if that goes bad? Or how to check it

I'm with Lou C. I would have a look at the t-stat just to make sure. Normally I think impeller pieces would make it stick open and run cold but you never know what the little pieces of impeller will do if stuck in there.
