My 1961 Evinrude Fastwin 18 slipped and fell over landing on the shifting lever/arm. Being pot metal it didn't have a chance. My question is Do I need to remove the power head to replace the shifting arm. This is on A Model 15034 1961 Evinrude Fastwin 18. Any and all help is appreciated. Eric.
Major possibility it's Coosa Board. A fiberglass reinforced polymer material. Does not rot, lighter than wood, lasts forever. However the down side is cost. If that's not a concern, check them out. Coolant Fiber Board.

I am not going to argue about what year was the last year of what, but everything I have found on ID-ing this motor says it's an Evinrude 65hp Triumph outboard produced in 1973. Designed for saltwater use. model number 65373R...and that came from right here on iboats when looking it up...just sayin'
My Location is Springfield, Missouri. Doing research the photos of the units said to be same as mine had only the drive shaft and an electric wire coming out the top. Thats why i referred to the electric shift. However, thank you for setting mestraight
