    Stator Test 40 hp Mecury

    I tested the stator on 40 hp mercury by swapping blue with blue/white on switch box. Spark changes fron 1 and 2 cylinders to 3 and 4. Does this mean stator is bad or could the problem be coming from the trigger? Original problem is no fire on 3 and 4 cylinders. Thanks

    Enrichment Valve

    1993 Mercury 40 hp enrichment valve. Valve is good, how do I trace voltage to connector? Valve do not work when I press key switch. Thanks, Clarence

    No Voltage

    No voltage going to switch on 40 hp mercury. Recently replaced reed block. Was turnig over fine until then. What did I do now? Have voltage at starter solenoid, no place else. Thanks

    Reed Check

    I have the Seloc Manual for my 1993 Mercury 40 hp 4 clylinder, but it do not give a lot of detail for getting to the lower reed block. I am ready to start this task with advice from the pros. I am the one where the lower carb is blowing out fuel. Thanks!

    Carb Blowing Out Gas

    1993 Mercury 4 cyl. bottom carb blowing out gas. Cylinders has compression and spark. Engine run on top 2 cylinders.

    40 Hp Mercury Carb

    1993 40 hp mercury botton carb not suckng in air. Engine run on top cylinders. All plugs firing. Bottom carb has fuel in bowl.

    Will Not Start

    At first mercury 40 hp would not idle unless I give it a little throttle. When I remove plug wires from cylinder 3 or 4, engine continue to run.     Not Firing

    40 hp mercury mariner 4 cly. no fire all 4 plugs. Was running fine, left beside dock for about 2 hrs, heavy wake, checked stator, .4 ohm, repair manual call for .16-.19 ohms. Do not have kill switch, only emergency shut off switch. What procedure shouldI follow to troubleshoot?
