    Low RPM but good performance

Not familiar with yam guages, but I would think there's a setting on the back for different engines. Might should contact Yamaha support with engine model and tach model for proper setting.

    Slow 9.9 Mercury

The density of water is ~784 times more dense than air. Therefore any excess of the lower unit below the waterline produces a lot of drag. It also introduces the increased hazard of the lower unit hitting something below the water surface damaging the lower unit or causing major injury or death...

    1998 larson 226 lxi. Prop?

Personally, I'd test with the 19p prop and see how it performs. If it over revs then I'd consider going with more pitch.

Prop size for 1995 SeaRay Sundance 290

AFAIK Alpha 1's have a 1.62 GR. If that's the case you should probably be using 16P props. And you should see rpm's in the 4600 range. Th GR should be stated on the outdrives somewhere.

Prop has Merc # 48-77346-19 stamped on it

If both have the same part number, 1411-130-19, then are they are the same prop. Year they were made doesn't matter. For Solas, first number is prop design/material/specs, second is diameter, 13.0", and third is pitch 19.

    Prop question

It's a 36yo boat. Check for water logged flotation, hull condition, or anything else that may slow it down. From my research, the engine has a 2.42 gear ratio and rated rpm to 5500. Your reported 35 mph? @ 5300 rpm is actually a 0% slip so the only thing that comes to mind is with the 17p prop...

    Prop question

ST150 was made up til 1985 from what I find. Dry weight is 745#. A properly mounted 70 hp engine should get you 40mph. Check your engine mounting height before looking at prop. AV plate should not be below hull.

Help selecting prop. Currently no top end.

immo, The prop you want depends on what you want out of the boat. There's never one prop pitch for all use types without giving up something in different uses. For cruising around by yourself for max speed you may want a 23p prop. For a heavy load pulling skiers you may want a 17p prop. If you...

What pitch prop for Carolina Skiff J14 with Yamaha15 2 stoke?

Info I found says it's rated for up to 30hp. A lower pitch prop may help, but at only half it's max hp rating it's not going to be a speed demon.
