    Where do you buy a gas tank pickup plate for a 50HP?

    It's my dad's and came with a Force 50HP on a pontoon. He says that the tank is an OMC P6A (Duratank). I wouldn't think the Force came with that tank but it's on a Lowe boat so maybe they preferred the OMC tanks.

    Gear Lube leaking at water intake when 50HP is tilted up for storage

    I just replaced the input shaft seal (the only leak I could find on the lower unit) and noticed lube coming out of the intake when the motor is tilted back down after being up for storage.     How do you set the shift rod (turn buckle and lock nut) at the lower unit?

    I didn't realize this didn't have to come loose and uncoupled this rod via the turnbuckle when changing the oil seal at the input shaft. It seems to shift fine now that it's back together. I'm sure I'm close to adjusted properly just by matching up the amount of threads showing in the "before"...

    Chrysler 15HP not as fast as a similar OMC?

    My dad tells me that he had a 15 of each brand and the OMC was a lot faster on the same boat. Is this normal or did he have a dud or poorly tuned engine?

    Is this amount of water spraying up normal operation for a Force 125?

    The prop is really spraying up a good bit of water. Is this normal? I have some sort of fin above the prop that looks aftermarket FWIW. I think this is normal but just wanted to run it by some other boaters.

    Sanding Points OK?

    Seems like the OMC points look a little different than say a set for a Briggs. Is it ok to sand them with 400 wet/dry paper?

    Are these Rule 2000 Bilge pump copies any good?

    Engine trimmed 10-15 degress. Gas drip from top carb. Normal? See Photo.

    I started the engine on earmuffs a few days ago with the engine trimmed just a hair from straight up and down (say 12 degrees) I can see it's back spitting ever so slightly from the throttle butterfly. Is this ok?

    Coil/Magneto to Flywheel Gap???

    I couldn't find anything on how to set this gap. There's about .040" of wiggle room on the screws. Obviously, too far away and no pickup, too close and it'll rub. On a Briggs and Stratton it's set external to the flywheel via a playcard. How do you set this gap on an OMC outboard?

    Johnson 4HP with 50psi compression but runs pretty well.

    I just found a 69 Johnson 4HP that looks a lot like an old lightwin. It starts first pull when warmed up and seems to idle and run fairly well. But it reads 50psi compression on both cylinders. I'm not positive my gauge is giving the full value but it's reading 50 on both cylinders (consistent)...
