    I want to repaint my Picton Sprint speedboat, using Penguard HB primer.It says that it cannot be applied over single pack type paints. Can I safely use a paint stripper to remove the existing paintwork from the hull to expose the grp or is sanding the only way to go?

    Cylinder compression

    I tested my 1988 Mariner two cylinder 40hp today with a compression tester and the results areTthat both cylinders are producing 140psi. Without sounding silly, is this a good result or should it have been a higher reading? Thanks for reading, Shaun Fareham,UK

    Outboard flushing

    My friend has a 18ft day fishing boat powered by a 25hp Mercury,as the boat will be moored permanently in fresh/brackish water, will it be necessary after venturing out in salt water for the day and mooring in this brackish-like river water to flush out the outboard, or will the river water be ok?
