    TN26 (1950-51) 5hp lost spark again, air gap?

    After putting in 0.22 capacitors @50volts, I got a spark on one plug. The next day there was nothing. I cleaned the points and set them to 0.20" Then I set the coil air gap to 0.10". I'm not sure what the correct setting is. Still nothing. I need some new ideas. Thanks.

    Will Ford copper SP wire sub for braided silver?

    This '57 Johnson 35hp RD19 has silver braided plug wires. I have some ignition wires that says Hypaloncopper conductor. Will any wire work? This one has a straight end on it and can it be swapped for the 90 degree one? The 35's has the sharp pin that goes into the wire. Not sure about the other...

    Minnkota 565 foot control turns hard

    The foot control works because the cable moves inside the head, but the bolt won't hold it. It takes vise grips on the knob to turn the chain. I lubed below the wires where it turns and the knob. Any suggestions? What does the knob do? Thanks.

    How do I tell if early or later carb is the right one?

    Johnson's website lists an early and later (337833)carburetor top cover for a 1992 9.9hp J10Rena. The first costs about $60 and the later one costs $8. Can I assume the later one is a superceded part? Neither is the original part number 334050). Thanks.

    Need to convert the fuel system. I've searched and found information on do-it-yourself. Can't figure out how it seals the vacuum in. Anyhow where might I find a pre-drilled cover plate and fuel pump? Thanks.

    plug broke off in head of Merc cruiser

    We just got this boat as a project and the plugs were so thin in the middle that a slight twist broke one plug off with the bottom still in the block. There is another one that might do the same thing. It is a 4 cylinder Merc cruiser I/O. How are they taken out? Thanks.
