    1988 Rogue 2420

Yup . . . My boats have always been moored in a shallow area . . . I was constantly picking up sea weed and it would clog the cooling system. Sea water strainers did the trick.

Perhaps a sea water strainer would be good.

    !/2 ton Truck towing limitations

Don't tell anybody, but I tow about 14,000 lbs with my 2012 F-150 3.5 Ecoboost. Of course, I only tow that weight on the back roads . . . I think the top-end rating for my truck model year is 11,200 lbs. I think all of the notes on the ratings charts are to make the lawyers happy.

    Cabrio 350

Welcome to iBoats . . . Usually it is best to ask these types of questions while considering various boats and before you make an offer. Hopefully some owners will chime in with their specific experiences.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Warm spell is upon us in the Northeast USA . . . . Not sure if the LiFePO4 batteries came to life, since I am not there at the boat. If we get another stretch of warm weather, I may have to take a trip to see first hand if & how the batteries come back to life.

    What fuel to run?

I would not agonize over using 87 from the gas station. It sounds like the engine will be fine.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I would say that the engine hatch on my boat weighs at least 500 lbs  . . . maybe more like 700 lbs.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I'll need to take a look at the wiring diagrams that I have for the boat. There is an extra switch for raising the engine hatch that I have not figured out (yet). Although it may have something to do with using the engine batteries as an alternate power source. (hoping . . . ) Otherwise, I'll...

Has anyone used the ready lime (not the brand name) to descale their outboard

I have run a 'descaling' solution through my outboards, as well as the heat exchangers on my I/O engines. Barnacle Buster is a descaling solution, but there are many other brand names of product.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Keeping my fingers crossed that I can get the batteries to 'wake up' with some heat into the engine bay. My main problem/concern is that the large (heavy) engine hatch, which is basically the rear seat assembly, runs off of the house battery (LiFePO4) bank. Having that bank shut itself off...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

@Scott Danforth . . . 16˚F at my house this AM . . . 23˚F at the summer place (boat). Looks like I should try to get some heat into the bilge to wake up the batteries. Winter must be here.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I may have to re-think my winterization routine. . . Perhaps have a way to pump some warm air into the engine bay via the blower/intake vents. That way, I can force a temperature rise and see if the batteries wake up. I suspect a self heating battery might be better to keep...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

26˚ F at my house this AM. Cape Cod was about the same. I'm going to do a wait 'n see on the battery charging. A mid-winter global warming spell would help, as I can take a look at things to see if the charging/recovery kicks in. As luck would have it, the engine hatch runs off the LFP...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Yes, @bruceb58 That's what I need to figure out . . . M-T-W of this week the temperatures were at/above the "recovery" point (41˚ F) entirely for those 3 days. If the batteries came back to life, then the Xantrex inverter/charger would/should charge them at 20 Amps for a 'while' per the...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

A quick update to this thread. . . I was at the summer house this weekend, where the boat is located. So, I checked the electrical system/batteries, as they are in 'maintenance mode' for the winter. The 2 engine batteries (SLA) are sitting nicely @ 14 volts each (trickle charged) The house...

Do they look like this? . Reach out to Stingray for advice. Or have a local upholstery shop make something from scratch.

    Grease Zerk Fitting Question . . .

Quick update . . . I got a new coupler for the grease gun. It worked better, but not great. I was able to get some grease to flow into the bearings. Once done, the grease gun went right in the trash. I have better grease guns at the summer house . . . probably will need one for my primary...
