1977 Johnson 35 HP 35EL77H-Rectifier and starting battery recommendation?

I have a 1978 so I'll send you pictures. The short answer is yes. Rectifier, bus bar, then maybe something under the flywheel. Lithium wont work....not compatible with the charging system. Others on here love their 4 stroke lawn mower batteries. I'm using two 27 series on my 16 lund with an...

1982 Johnson 50 Sea Horse - Constant Beep While Accelerating

Your committed now....all or nothing. You can put wedges between the LU and the mid section and either the shaft will pop out or you will destroy the water pump leaving the shaft hanging in the block. That's what your up against... Either it will be "bingo" time or a hunk of scrap.

Yeah, that was assumed. It was an alternative to purchasing a stainless tilt tube.

You can buy time by cleaning your existing tube with a brush and WD 40 and I run a brake cylinder hone up there. It will continue to give you troubles though.

It would appear bolt 66 goes to the exhaust housing.

You need to heat the snot out of the part that that bolts to. Vice grips.....try to tighten it first. Keep heating, back and forth. Patience.

    Evinrude 85HP 1979 (85995R)

Yes, but have someone crank on the wheel on the direction needed. Pretty good amount of pressure but no superman stuff. There are plastic bushings in the tilt assembles but with the old grease and stuff you can heat it longer than you think. Small movements each direction and back to happy...

Then you said it dropped down a bit when you got the shift linkage apart? If the case hasn't moved down then.....then your shaft might not be stuck. I'd rather deal with a rounded off bolt WAY more then a dealing with a stuck shaft.

    Evinrude 85HP 1979 (85995R)

If it was mine, and I've done many, I would screw that nut back on, have someone at the helm applying pressure, heat the clamp arms at the tilt tube location and tap one way (lots of penetrant) then I use a slide hammer to work it the other way. Work it back and forth and then eventually it...

You stated on post 28 that those bolts were removed. Which is it?

Going to rebuild my 115hp 1998 Evinrude

Did they scope the bad cylinder or pull the head? Most likely it's dead but you could try a new head gasket if the piston and cylinder look okay. In my area Seattle you can no longer get machining anymore locally. Many videos online on how to rebuild.

There is no bolt holding the driveshaft to the powerhead. Your driveshaft is fused to the crankshaft because no one has greased it. Probably the death of your motor. I've removed a few but most of them are ruined.

    Tilt trim making weird noise.

When BRP took over OMC they cleaned up their tolerances and shifted many of their rotax designs to the E-tec....or so I was told when I purchased my first one in 2011. Either way it's not a 4 stroke as the poster is saying.

    Tilt trim making weird noise.

The E-tec is a fuel injected motor. 2 stroke, rotax designed engine.

    Tilt trim making weird noise.

4 stroke etech? It's E-tec.... and it's the finest 2 stroke outboard ever made. Your download wouldn't play well when I download the video but common thing on that motor is if the big clamp nut isn't torque correctly you get that nasty sound. Check the big nut on the end of your tilt tube and...
