I had a 80 Toyota pickup I only needed the clutch for 1st gear. The rest slid right in. Had 250k on it and still ran like new. And I could load the bed with bricks and it hardly knew they were there.
Now days in the new stuff a half load of firewood and your dragging the bumper.
Your friend and my mom would have got along great. I remember mom buying a new couch and leaving the plastic on it for several years so it wouldn’t get dirty.
Made some burgers tonight with ground beef from one of the local farms. It’s such an amazing flavor over the store bought commercial stuff.

I mentioned not long ago I haven’t seen any ice in the harbors for years. I jinxed myself. Been in a deep freeze for over a week now. Makes for good pond hockey though. It looks like a warming spell in moving in for the weekend.
I didn’t get that far into it. Not sure if they did or not. It was just a manual tilt 25hp but there was battery cables going to the motor so it was a least electric start. Who knows. Live and learn as they say.
I was driving past a house thats only used seasonally last week and saw a skiff with an outboard tilted all the up. I stopped and lowered it to keep it from collecting water. 2 days later I was tracked down by local PD. I guess they had cameras and saw my truck and plates and reported me messing...
Tell tail water doesn’t go through the block.
You could try back flushing from the thermostat housing or better yet pull the exhaust cover and look for a blockage.
All freshened up and ready to go another 100 years. I ran a few rounds through it and and it’s still working like a charm. It’s a really nice shooter. I hope Gramps is looking down on me and is happy to see it’s still going strong.
