    DIY Audio Alarm System

I agree that it's annoying, but thats kinda the point right? Haha I was also thinking of adding another pressure switch to the water side as well so it would trigger the alarm if the impeller blows up or I go through a forest of grasses and plug up the inlets... I would think that drop in...

    DIY Audio Alarm System

Not sure if this is of any interest to people, but I "finished" (never really finished) a restoration on my Bayliner last year and was wrapping up some odds and ends this spring/summer, one of which was the fact that my mercruiser alarm was not working. I pulled the buzzer and tested it on my...

    Stringer replacement

Csm is good for waterproofing/ capping the stringers.. for the sides and tabbing you want 1708 for poly resin or 1700 for eeeeeepoxy

    Stringer replacement

I would hesitate to take the approach you're going for.. Leaving that channel won't let you grind down the fiberglass surface on the sides and bottom of the channel to get to fresh/clean fiberglass... You aren't going to get there with cleaners/chemicals, you need to abrade the glass down to...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

Their stainless hardware is stainless, but its most likely an 18-8 grade. Its reasonably corrosion resistant, but can start to rust with a lot of salt exposure.. Most marine grade stuff is 316 stainless which is the go to... If you buy from mcmaster carr, you can probably get it next day.

    Bayliner 305/350 swap

You might consider looking at swapping over to the vortec heads and intake while your at it. Just depends on how cheap you're trying to keep things.

1985 Bayliner 2750 Ciera Sunbridge Resto

I think this is my goal a few years down the road... I'm gonna get my time out of my resto... But after going to some of the local lakes and deeper waters, I've really been getting an itch to find a bigger boat like this... Something my wife and two kids could spend a weekend on and trailer to...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

Man, you might have converted me.. not gonna redo the whole thing at this point, but only two years after painting the inside of my boat with interlux brightside, I've already got some spots peeling... Some of it is my fault and I had an old shoddy cover on the boat the first winter and I think...

1987 Power Play XLT-185 - floors, stringers, and upholstery

When I matched up my gelcoat, I put an area of clear packaging tape on the hull and then put my dab of gel on the packaging tape, that way I could get a very clear visual on the color match... It wasn't perfect but you gotta be closer than a couple feed to see it.

    Painting my transom assembly.

I used rustoleum engine enamel gloss black on mine... Still holding up very well but I trailer my boat and only use it in fresh water... your mileage may vary. The major point I'd make though is that if you sand anywhere through the paint and primer and there is exposed aluminum, you MUST prime...

Boat fell off lift and smashed some rocks.. What are your thoughts on this damage ?

Man, thats really unfortunate... In my opinion, if you're planning to do it yourself, I would pull the motor, drive, and transom assembly... you have a hole in your boat from impact, which means you probably have stress cracks propagating much further away that you probably can't even see... The...

Anyone know anything about these old Fiberform boats?

My opinion on any boat older than 2005 (at this point), unless you have documented proof that it was restored/rebuilt, just assume its rotted and will need a lot of work if you plan on keeping it. So if you love the boat, and are willing to put the time and money in, go for it!

    1989-90 bayliner 2159 hardtop.

Working on a new one right now 😁... Once I got my boat in the water for the first time, I kinda lost interest in the videos, but now that I'm back at fixing up some things that I never got around to, I decided to pick it back up...

    Sapele marine marine plywood

Yea, mahogany and sapele woods are just fine for polyester and epoxy... The main wood you need to be careful of when coating with glass or resin is Teak.. Teak has a LOT of oils in it which is why its a fantastic wood for outdoor use even without any coatings... For that you would want to wipe...

    aquasport 175 osprey

People crap all over flex seal, but that stuff is actually pretty great... It just fails people all the time because just like good paint or fiberglass work, they don't prep the surface and/or use it in an application that is just ridiculous... and it doesn't help that the commercials are...
