    I totally agree on the non-skid tape, I've seen a similar look after years on wooden stairs. It almost looks like they may have been coated with stain at some point to blend them in as the wood wore.

    I had to add pads on the top of my mounts to give me enough adjustment to align everything. I could have been a little low on my mounts and or because my transom is a bit thicker than originally. I have read that others have done this also.

    Hi Mark, I used 4x4's out of Douglas Fir and I know others used plywood laminated together. Any wood needs to be thourghly coated with resin, 2 coats is what I did, then after I used my PB I put another coat over everything before I glassed. Before any glassing make sure all gelcoat is removed...
